So what is Osteopathy? Osteopathy is a way of diagnosing, treating and preventing health problems through looking at the way the body’s muscles, bones and tissues move.
Many people use Osteopathy as a way of treating aches and pains whilst minimising the use of drugs or surgery. Osteopaths work with their hands, using a wide range of treatment techniques, including massage, stretching and manipulation, as well as gentle release techniques that are suitable for children and elderly people. As well as hands-on treatment an Osteopath may recommend a programme of exercises to aid recovery.
Not just for backs! Osteopathy can be used to treat a huge range of musculoskeletal conditions including neck pain, work-related postural problems, sciatica, frozen shoulder, pregnancy-related aches and pains, sports injuries, headaches and the symptoms of arthritis.
